North London music sensation AJ Soulz is rapidly making an impression on the music scene.
Her sultry sounds, combined with her winning personality are proving to be an irresistible combination.
Now promoting her debut single Official and her latest offering Dear No One, this singer shows she is definitely ready for the big times.
For her it’s a fulfilling of her life’s dream and that was to do music. “I think it was a love I was born with. I respect the power of music and words,” she said adding that her biggest influence in her development has been her music teacher in high school, other artists and the radio.
Although she is chalking up some attention in her side of the world, AZ Soulz is eager for the world to sit up and take notice.
“I haven’t broken through yet but when I do it will be due to opportunities I have had and are still to come,” she said.
Although it’s a competitive industry with others awaiting the same dream she is determined to make her mark.
“I’m just doing me and growing while I do that. I listen for the feedback and to be honest good or bad it pushes you to do better next time,” she said.
In describing her sound AJ Soulz said it all depends on how she envisions R&B and pop.
Raised in a multi cultural household listening to a wide range of music which included gospel, zouk, soca it saw her developing a varied appreciation for music strengthened by her West African, Caribbean and South American roots.
Feeding on songs from some of the greats such as Whitney Houston, Ella Fitzgerald, Minnie Ripperton and Mary J Blige helped to inspire her sound.
A firm believer that talent is a gift from God, AJ has performed at prestigious venues such as the BBC Proms at Royal Albert Hall, and the Roundhouse in Chalk Farm.
Looking ahead the sky is the limit where this upcoming singer is concerned.
