KINGSTON, Jamaica:
The Acting Police Commissioner, Glenmore Hinds, has ordered an investigation into complaints that the Olympic Gardens Police have been disturbing the neighbourhood with the playing of loud music up to 3 o’clock at nights.

The Inspectorate of the Constabulary is to spearhead the probe.

Yesterday, a letter writer in The Gleaner highlighted the situation in the Kingston community saying it was unbearable.

According to the writer, a senior police officer was rude and dismissive when a complaint was made to him.

Another policeman is said to have sought to obtain the precise address of the complainant.
Acting Commissioner Hinds has instructed the officer in charge of the St Andrew South Police Division to take immediate action to rectify the situation.

He is also urging the letter writer to give any further information such as the names or regulation numbers of implicated cops to the police inspectorate.
