THE brothers of Truckback Records Steve, Andrew and Adrian Locke are known for producing hits like Erup’s Click Mi Finger, I-Octane’s Lose A Friend and Harry Toddler’s Don’t Run In.

Even former ace crimefighter, Senior Superintendent of Police Reneto Adams got in on the act when he recorded his 2005 effort

To Protect And Serve.

But the males are not the only ones who have had musical success with Truckback, as the producers are behind hits like Lady Saw’s Heels On, Mr Shortcomings and Mack Diamond’s Dye Dye.

“It all boils down to the chemistry that is felt with the artist and how disciplined she is. The lyrical content has to be alluring and catchy. With all of that in place, then comes the promotional part of the single. When a song gets good promotion it will become a hit,” Adrian explained.

Truckback Records is just what it claims to be, a recording studio built inside the cargo compartment of a retired container truck. That was in 2006 when the brothers along with Victon ‘Teetimus’ Edmond in a bid to secure their valuable studio equipment from the fury of the rains.

The studio has produced several rhythms Gearbox in 2008, Dashboard in 2010 and Sextape which features dancehall acts Lady Saw, Capleton, Gyptian and Kiprich.

Among their latest releases are D’Angel’s Ramp Ruff, Money Alone and Our Lives, a colloborative effort between Lady Saw and New Kidz.
