Phil Spector unmasked: Prison mug shot shows the bald terrible truth
Music producer Phil Spector is serving 19 years in a California prison for the 2003 shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson. The years have not been kind, as witnessed by this 2013 jailhouse mug shot.
Phil Spector let it be in this prison mug shot from 2013, a far cry from the Afro wig he rocked during a 2005 court appearance.
Phil Spector finally let it be.
First Spector was unmasked in the courtroom. Now the former hit-making record producer has been revealed once more in an unflattering mug shot from behind bars.
Gone is the teased out blond Afro wig Spector made famous during his six-year long legal fight to beat murder charges stemming from the 2003 killing of actress Lana Clarkson at his Los Angeles-area mansion. Spector was convicted in 2009 of second-degree murder and sentenced to 19 years in prison.
Spector, now 74, is looking every bit his age in a recently released prison mug shot from 2013, as reported on The Smoking Gun.
The rich, lustrous look he attempted to pull off for so many years was all a sham. Spector is bald with long, wild hair on the sides.
The producer behind the Beatles’ “Let It Be” album and renown for working with the likes of Leonard Cohen, the Ramones and Righteous Brothers, today Spector resides at the California State Prison’s Health Care Facility in Stockton.
