All is in full gear for the third annual Come Celebrate Jesus concert set for next Saturday, October 4, at the Montego Bay Convention Centre.

International gospel recording artiste Ron Kenoly will headline the show and will be joined by fellow gospel artists Donnett Thompson-Hall and Shirley Simpson, both from Canada.

Evangelist Kevin Downswell headlines the line-up of local artists also set to perform at the show, which includes the 2006 winner of the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission Gospel Song Contest, Clive Warren; multi-award-winning group Singing Jewels from Corinaldi Avenue Primary School, and the Montego Bay-based Leharia Singers.

Concert with a difference

Organiser Donald Brooks is encouraging everyone to come out and enjoy the night’s proceedings. In addition to having fun, Brooks says he is also expecting great spiritual things to happen.

“This will be a concert with a difference,” Brooks said. “Patrons can expect a lot of enjoyment throughout the show as there will be singing, preaching, dancing and eating.”

“This concert is not only to entertain, but to bring an awakening to the goodness of God. As we minister through the power of music, we are also expecting souls to come to Jesus,” the organiser added.

In addition to performances, there will be segments of evangelical preaching from co-organiser Pastor Talsey throughout the night. The concert will also feature cell phone giveaways from sponsors Digicel.

There will also be a VIP section offering wine and cheese and other beverages.
