CHRONIXX won two key awards at the 33rd International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA) which took place last Saturday at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts in South Florida.
The singer took the Best Song (Smile Jamaica) and Best Music Video (Here Comes Trouble) categories.
Also winning two awards was gospel singer Audley Rollen. He was selected Florida’s Best Gospel Entertainer for the song Why Worry; Rollen was one of three recipients of the Hall of Fame/Lifetime Award, along with Mykal Rose and Bobby Aikens.
For Rollen, who had a big secular hit in the 1970s with Repatriation is a Must, a lifetime award is ‘gratifying’.
“It means a lot to me because it tells me that my contribution towards the development and growth of Jamaican entertainment and popular music has not gone unnoticed,” he said.
