Anthony Cruz—-

ENCOURAGED by the response to his latest album in Europe, singer Anthony Cruz plans to re-launch the set in Jamaica early this year.

The album, Inna di Dance, was released last July. But although it got favourable response in countries like Germany, Switzerland and The Netherlands, Cruz said the reaction in Jamaica could have been better.

He believes living in his home parish Manchester contributed to the insufficient airplay, as he was unable to properly promote the set from his rural base. Now that he has relocated to Kingston, Cruz is optimistic for a change in fortunes.

“Is a good album with a lot of potential but wi never really get the chance to push it the right way. Now dat wi back in Kingston wi can mek the right connections,” Cruz told the Jamaica Observer.

Inna di Dance’s title track and lead single is produced by the Stone Love label. The set also has a cover of Roy Orbison’s Suspicion, as well as collaborations with Luciano (I Won’t Wait) and Macka Diamond (Get the Music Out).

It is the fifth album for Cruz whose hit songs include Half Way Tree and Tear it Up.

He plans to relaunch Inna di Dance in the first quarter of the year.
