Entertainer Freddie McGregor during his performance at Rebel Salute 2015—

PRIORY, St Ann – Veteran crooner Freddie McGregor steadied the ship with a pleasing performance after another old-timer, Leroy ‘Don’ Smart, was booed off the stage at Rebel Salute 2015 early Sunday morning.

Smart, who failed to get the crowd going, accused the backing band of not rehearsing his songs.

Impatient with the veteran singer, the patrons booed him as he was about to leave the stage.

The ‘Don’ made a roundabout turn on stage and was about to take the mic from the emcee, but the patrons would have none of it as the boos got louder.

On the other hand, patrons cheered for the Big Ship singer who earned an encore.

McGregor did songs like Push Come to Shove, Stop Loving You, To Be Poor is a Crime, Big Ship, among other hits.
