 KINGSTON, Jamaica ––
Olympic bronze medallist Warren Weir on Monday chided the Government for its lack of support for Jamaicans who have represented the country.

Using the handle @Warren_Weir, he took to social networking site Twitter to voice his disappointment, tweeting a photo which showed Miss Universe Jamaica and fourth-runner up in the 63rd Miss Universe pageant Kaci Fennell, with the words attached: “No official from the Government was at the airport to meet Kaci Fennell when she returned earlier today”.

Weir captioned the photo tweeting, “But they quick to say they are our day one support #DontBeTricked”.

The tweet was retweeted 78 times and made a favourite by other Twitter users some 33 times.

Young politico and Jamaica Labour Party constituency caretaker for Eastern St Thomas Delano Seiveright expressed that if there was any truth to what was said, it was tactless of the Government

Tweeting from the handle @DelanoSeiv, Seiveright said, “Someone said no Government official was at the airport to meet Kaci Fennell. If true that’s very unfortunate.”

Meanwhile, other users echoed similar sentiments arguing: “If she had won, they would have been there in their numbers”.

Fennell arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston on Monday evening, a day after competing in the Miss Universe pageant in Florida’s youngest city, Doral.
