Felisha Loud—

DISC jockey Felisha Loud plans to reach the Jamaican Diaspora in her new gig as host of Reggae Soul Experience on the CaribMixx Radio 93.5 FM.

Previously, the 32-year-old Loud worked at Irie Jam Radio 93.5 FM, which has strong reggae and Caribbean content.

“The focus of the show is to reach the second, third, and fourth generation Jamaicans by playing R&B, allowing them to make a connection and not having to choose,” she told Splash. “I concentrate on the R&B/reggae mix, like an R&B artist on a reggae track and R&B artists of Caribbean descent.”

Reggae Soul Experience airs Sundays from 1:00-2:00 pm. Its playlist is built around ‘vintage’ and contemporary Jamaican music, as well as classic R&B and neo-soul.

Loud migrated to the United States at age 16. She returned to Jamaica and worked at Nationwide News Network; she also showed her acting skills on the long-running CVM soap opera, Royal Palm Estate.
