Established record company, Downsound Records continues to downsize after it was announced Tuesday that legendary dancehall artist, Ninja Man, who had been signed with them since 2012, has cut ties with the label.

The news was confirmed by Downsound CEO, Joe Bogdanovich in an interview with IRIE FM Tuesday afternoon, though he would not specify reasoning for the split. The ‘Don Gorgon,’ has yet to comment on the matter, though he reportedly hinted at a departure from Downsound during his birthday bash in January.

Ninja Man is the second notable act to leave the label this year, with former Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall standout, Specialist calling it quits in January, citing lack of promotion, among other things. His contract with the label ended last fall and was not renewed.

After being released on bail from a local penitentiary after spending three years behind bars awaiting his murder trial, Ninja signed with Downsound and rejuvenated his decorated career with hits such as Ninja Mi Ninja,Jamaica Town and Dweet, featuring the aforementioned Specialist.

Now left signed to the label are Reggae singer, NatureDon Husky, famed producer Skatta Burrell and dancehall diva, Ishawna who has become the focal point of Downsound in recent months with her string of hit singles.
