EVERTON “E-DEE” DENNIS JOINS FORCES WITH GLEN WASHINGTON ON THE COLLABORATION “WHERE I BELONG!”

The artists met two years ago backstage at a sold out performance in Los Angeles where they were double-billed. Dennis, a long time fan of the veteran Washington whose first hits came out of Studio One, approached the singer about a a collaboration, and when Glen returned to California, the two linked up with Grammy Award winning producer Qmillion, and wrote and recorded the song.

The lyrics talk about the challenges of living where the system puts the youth and minorities in general at risk to lose their lives at the hands of law enforcement. “Teach the truth to the youth, remember Hands Up Don’t Shoot” sings Washington. The feeling of the record is peaceful, at such an un-peaceful topic, reflecting the positive hand of hope and faith in guidance and protection. The single has its official iTunes and digital outlet worldwide release May 4th on Unseen Lab Recordings and became available today as a leak on Soundcloud.com. There are plans for a music video.

The record is the latest in a body of work from Everton, now using his full name, that include past reggae charters like “Revolution” and “Ghetto Yutes Rise (ft. I-Octane)” and “So Badmind”. The six foot 5 performer/actor became even more widely known after the release of the feature film “Out the Gate”, the gritty but uplifting picture that had its run in US and Jamaican theaters in 2011 before becoming a bootlegged favorite. Dennis’s eponymous full-length album is planned before the end of the year.
