Producer Mykal Fax—-
Producer of the highly anticipated movie, Jamaican Mafia, finds it very ironic that he has recently acquired theatrical distribution deals in several islands of the Caribbean with Jamaica, his native land, being the exception.

Mykal Fax, co-producer and screenwriter of the film, and also the writer of the smash hit movie Bashment, says that after a private screening of Jamaican Mafia was arranged in Jamaica, the film was then rated ‘R’ for viewers 17 and older. Palace Amusements then concluded that the film was too violent and they are not interested in showing it in their theaters.

Fax is highly disturbed by their stance against his movie, because he recalls buying tickets at Palace Amusements (Carib 5) to see American Gangster and SAW, which are two very violent films.

Jamaican Mafia is the best movie ever made by Jamaicans, and it should have a special grand premiere in its homeland,” says Fax, who then went on to quote the biblical scripture, “A prophet goes without honour in his own country.”

Fax also wants movie fans to know that there may be no other options to play the movie in Jamaica, since Palace Amusements owns and operates all the cinemas on the island. However, fans can get constant updates on the movie by visiting www.facebook.com/

Movie Sales-Agents, hired by Fax and his partners, are still at work in order to secure theatrical deals in other regions such as the United States, Canada, South Africa and England. Producers are still hopeful that Palace Amusements will change their minds before the international roll-out date is set for the movie.
