SoNia Williams has released her latest single, I Am Not Your Helper. Produced by Kenneth Llewellyn for the Kapras label, it is distributed by VP Records.
The singer, who has a degree in medical technology, was once a member of Byron Lee and the Dragonaires.
Originally from Mandeville, SoNia grew up in St Elizabeth. She migrated to the United States 31 years ago.
“When I moved to America I continued singing, but after a while I kind of slowed down a bit in order to raise my children. When you get married and you have a family, things change in a very big way, so I had to put my singing career on hold a little, but I still continued to perform at weddings and selected venues,” she said.
SoNia returned to music full-time last year after linking with longtime friend (singer/producer) Ed Robinson on FaceBook.
“I’ve known Ed for a very long time, we have been good friends from our high school days. He has played a very instrumental role in helping to revive my singing career,” she said.
