PENALPIE Wynter, mother of slain entertainer Derrick ‘Corey’ Edwards, is pleading with the authorities to assist her in expediting the process to have an autopsy done.
The availability of government pathologists is what is causing the delay.
“Please, help mi out! Mi just waan bury mi son. Is soon two months and mi nuh want keep him on ice any longer. The councillor from the area told me that it may be on the 26th of this month, but that’s not enough for me to walk on. Please, just let mi bury my boy,” she pleaded.
Edwards, 32, a singjay in the dancehall group Merital Family, was shot and killed outside the Treasure Hunt Casino in Montego Bay on May 7.
The group is known for songs including My Money Ha Ha, When We Party and Pray.
Wynter said also appealing to the Jamaica Constabulary Force to update her on the progress of their investigation into her son’s death.
“I am yet to be contacted, please unnuh just tell me what a gwaan,” she said.
