AFTER spending six days in police custody, singjay Likkle Dainjah has been released.
He was reunited with his family yesterday after participating in an identification parade at the Ocho Rios Police Station on Wednesday.
Likkle Dainjah was arrested following his performance at Reggae Sumfest’s Dancehall Night last Thursday.
The artist, whose given name is Dwayne Ford, was being probed by the police as a ‘person of interest’ in a 2013 homicide in St Mary.
In an interview with Splash yesterday, Vaughn Wint, his manager and CEO of True Loyal Records, was relieved his client has been cleared.
“He was actually given the green light from Wednesday, but because the parade was held in Ocho Rios and the matter was being dealt with in St Mary he had to spend Wednesday night in custody. We are just really happy that he was cleared. So now its just back to the business of music,” Wint said.
Splash spoke with the entertainer moments after he was released.
“Mi really happy, God know. The last few days dem rough, trust mi. Life behind bars nuh easy at all,” Likkle Dainjah said.
The entertainer said he was shocked when he was arrested.
“Mi surprise bad, an’ mi start try memba if mi did cuss any badword during mi performance. Den di police tell mi dat dem taking mi to St Mary and mi a person of interest in a murder. A strong mi strong mek mi nuh have heart attack.”
