Khalila Rose is rapidly emerging as one of the leading female voices in Roots Reggae music.
The soft spoken singer who hails from the parish of Portland is not easing up as she continues her musical journey.
Over the last two months, Khalila Rose has done a number of performances across the island at venues such as Bourbon Beach in Negril, Margaritaville in Montego Bay and Mongoose in Ocho Rios.
“Due to my hectic overseas schedule I do not get the chance to do many local performances. However, I recently decided to take time out to perform for my fans at home. I love my Jamaican people, and I treasure the love and support they have given me over the years,” said the artist.
Khalila Rose is currently working on an album project with popular music producer Sheldon Stewart aka Calibud. The album that is scheduled to be released in April 2016 will also feature production work from veteran Reggae music producer Roy Francis of Mixing Lab Studios.
“I am very excited about this project; I am so blessed to be working with a wonderful set of producers and musicians on this album. The project is coming together nicely; we are recording some very beautiful songs. This project is very dear to my heart; it is my second album, and I want it to make a strong statement in the Roots Reggae community,” said Khalila Rose.
Khalilah Rose is booked to perform at Red Bones Café in Kingston on the 4th of September. She is also slated to perform at the Virginia Reggae Festival in the US which takes place on the 6th of September.
