Marsha Morrison ready to Ignite—

SULTRY singer Marsha Morrison commands full attention whenever she performs on stage. Her soaring vocals are just as captivating on Ignite, her debut album.

“A lot of work went into this album, and now it is complete and will be released late- December. I am confident that the singles will do well,” she said.

Dancehall fans may remember Morrison for the hit song, Piece of my Heart featuring Shaggy. It made dancehall-reggae charts in Italy, Germany and England.

She also teamed with Lady Saw for Son Of A B!t@h, the answer to Shaggy’s It Wasn’t Me. Born in Kingston, Morrison migrated to the United States at age 11 but maintained family and cultural ties with Jamaica.

“I came back every summer, and I was always influenced by the music, the food, the culture. I love my homeland,” she said. Sun life, Up One and Conquered are some of the songs from Ignite.

To promote the set, Morrison has been performing at shows in the tri-state area.
