Singer Teflon and his Yard A Love management team recently signed a three-year distribution deal with Tuff Gong International.
The first album to be released through this partnership is his Young King, The Beginning which is out on November 27.
“The deal will see Tuff Gong International becoming the agency handling both digital and physical distribution for my music along with my marketing throughout the world for downloadable, mobile and video contents,” said Teflon.
The 15-track set is dedicated to his mother who died when he was an infant.
“My mother was born in November. She died when I was one so this is a way to keep her memory alive while motivating others. I see myself as a young king who the youths like look up to. We can’t sing the same songs, someone has to be different. There has to be a balance and there has to be conscious, motivating music,” Teflon reasoned.
The album is dominated by social commentary. It has a collaboration with reggae legend Lee Scratch Perry and songs produced by Sly Dunbar, Delroy ‘Worm Bass’ Nevin, Dalton Browne, Robbie Lyn and Dean Fraser.
Teflon is scheduled leave for the United States this month to promote Young King, The Beginning.
