The writing was on the wall at the downturn in the economy, plus the declining numbers over the years in patrons’ attendance.
According to the notice posted on the event’s website the festival will return in January 2017 – just in time to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
“We really tried to make 2016 a reality, however, things just did not work out. Therefore, instead of trying to push and stage a festival that would not be of our usual standard, we decided to postpone it,” a Facebook statement from the organizers read.
Throwing out a ‘carrot’ to Jazz and Blues lovers, the organizers promised that the one year’s wait will more than make up for it.
Over the years International artists such as Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Mariah Carey, Kenny Rogers, Celine Dion, Billy Ocean and others, have graced the stage, supported by local talents.
