All is now set for the Africa Meets Reggae (AMR) and World Music International Festival holding in Lagos this weekend. The festival will be staged at Ember Creek, Ikoyi and Hockey Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere on November 27 and 28 respectively. It will showcase top names in reggae and world music.
The festival headliners are reggae icons Victor Essiet and The Mandators popular for the hit, Rat Race, Majek Fashek, the rain maker, Double Wahala crooner, OritseFemi, Eljai from the USA, Afro pop singer, Burna Boy, Fuji artist, Pasuma Wonders, Ras Kimono, Orits Wiliki, Tee Mac, Righteous Man, Stella Monye, Black Rasta and Redfyah from Ghana.
Others billed to perform at the show are Black Face, Fadabasi, Safin De Coque Band, Black Rice, King Wadada, C-Stroke Band, Sweat Reggae Band, Francis Goldman, Kupa Victory and Empero Zigzag. Upcoming artistes who will also perform include Delight, Realman, Young Gracy, Jayru, Diggy Dor, Rosey Bassey, Jethro Lion and many more.
Disc jockeys that will add flavor to the live performances are Da Queen, DJ Rattata from Wazobia FM and MC Soro-soro.
The show will be hosted by ace comedian Koffi Da Guru. Africa Meets Reggae has been an annual musical event hosted by Echodelic Music and Dub Club in Los Angeles in the past years but now franchised to Victor Essiet of Mystic Records USA for Nigeria and Africa. This year’s Africa meets Reggae music festival will be unique and memorable as it cuts across all genre of music with good lyrical contents. It will be a two-day event at two different venues in Lagos. The first tagged ‘Executive Show’ will be at Ember Creek on Friday while the second tagged ‘The People’s Show’ will be at Hockey Pitch of National Stadium, the next day.
