Richard ‘Richie D’ Martin rode high a decade ago, producing hit songs for a number of artistes such as Lady Saw, whose I Got Your Man reached number 58 on the R&B Hip Hop Songs Chart.
Martin dons his promoter’s hat for ‘The Greatest Lovers Rock Night of the Year’, a show headlined by singer Sanchez. Half Pint, a contemporary of Sanchez from the 1980s, is also on the bill. The event takes place on December 19 at Famous Nightclub in Portmore.
“I have always wanted to work with both Sanchez and Half Pint. They have an impeccable track record with a long string of hits. They haven’t performed in Jamaica on a major show in a while, so their fans are definitely in for a treat,” said Martin.
Martin’s track record as a producer includes hits such as
The Greatest by Bounty Killer,
Must Be a Sign (Brian and Tony Gold),
Faith (Tony Curtis),
Ooh Ah Ah (Hawkeye),
Teaser (Tanto Metro and Devonte) and
What a Gal Can Wine by Delly Ranx.
He does not do much music production these days, but is busy as a disc jockey at events in Miami where he lives.
