Shauna Chin—-

SHAUNA Chin, manager of deejay Gully Bop, lashes out against rapists with the song Definition of No. Produced by her Bop Dem Records, the single is a collaboration with Gully Bop, Powercut and Tatik.

“A lot of thought went into this song as it is a tribute to the young girl that was raped and the video uploaded on social media by her alleged rapist. After watching the video, my stomach turned and I had to express it in song,” Chin said.

Last month, the violent video was posted on Facebook and enraged Jamaicans. The footage shows forced intercourse between a man and what looked to be an under-aged female.

It was posted from the account of a man named Odane Greyson who has been arrested and charged with rape and forcible abduction.

This is not the first single for Chin, who goes by the stage name Chin Chin. Her previous songs include Wife Me Name and Jah A Guide.Chin, 26, reflected on 2015. Despite some unfortunate incidents, she is generally pleased.

“It has been a good year. Gully Bop had bookings all year and I got a chance to tour and performed in Europe and the Caribbean,” she said.

With success came disappointments. In August, Gully Bop and his management split; that month, Chin was in a serious motor accident in Trelawny that left her with a bruised neck as well as cuts and bruises.
