THE deejay formerly known as Desperado is now Prado. The artist, whose real name is Kirvan Cole, reemerged a few months ago with a new lease on life.
He sees the name change as a new energy and rebranding of his music.
“The change had to do with a fresh new look, sound and attitude. Reinventing Desperado as Prado relates to what is going on now for my career. It is also an acronym that stands for proud, righteous and determined one,” he explained.
He burst on the scene in 2004 with the songs Line Up Style Up, Big Pimpin and Desprado, but took a break in 2014. He returned a few months ago with the song Turn Wid Yuh Liquor.
“I definitely have lots to say and will allow the music to speak for itself in 2016. Prepare for a combination of fun songs and conscious material from Prado,” he said.
His forthcoming releases include Wild Out, produced by Trevor ‘Baby G’ James and No Prison produced by RDX.
