SINGER Iley Dread is back with a new song, Smile, which is the lead single from his upcoming album, Unleashed.
The track, released on Tuesday, is produced by veteran Willie Lindo whose credits include Dennis Brown’s Inseparable and What One Dance Can Do by Beres Hammond.
Unleashed took seven years to complete. It hears Iley Dread (real name Colin Levy) working with several high-profile producers including Dean Fraser and Grammy winning Stephen Marley.
The 17-track set will be released on February 1 by VP Records. Iley Dread, who was prolific in terms of recordings 10 years ago, said the time it took to record Unleashed is worth it.
“Nothing happens before its time. It took seven years, during which time I recorded 70 songs and there are 17 songs on the album. Seven is a very powerful number and when three sevens clash, one must expect great things to happen,” he said.— By Howard Campbell
