The Roots Warrior, Warrior King’s fifth album, will be released in February to coincide with a six-week tour of the United States and Bermuda.

According to the stocky singer, the ‘well-produced’ set is “my best work to date.

“Is the first time I work with producers from outside Jamaica,” he said.

Ain’t Giving Up is the lead single from The Roots Warrior, Warrior King’s first album in five years. It is co-produced by his Roots Warriors label and Irie Sounds International.

Typical of contemporary albums, it has a number of collaborations, including I Wouldn’t do That with Beres Hammond, produced by Colin ‘Bulby’ York, and Heartbreaker with Richie Spice. Another song, Same Source, is produced by brothers Sam and Joe Hitchcock out of New Orleans. “Wha’ wi trying to do is expand the fan base, reach different people an’ places,” Warrior King said.His latest tour is scheduled to start January 18 in San Diego, California, and end in Chicago in mid-February. Other West Coast gigs are down for Los Angeles and Santa Cruz. He will also perform at shows in Midwest states of Ohio and Missouri.
