VETERAN singer George Nooks is number one on the Foundation Radio Network New York Top 30 and South Florida Reggae Top 30 charts with his inspirational song Ride Out Your Storm.
Produced by Nooks’s Total Records, the song is from his new album of the same name.
“We are looking at releasing the album in the second quarter of this year. It will be distributed by Tads Records,” Nooks told Splash.
Carl Morrison and Tad Dawkins Sr also produced songs for the set.
Nooks had a good run in the 1970s, beginning with Judgment Day which was produced by guitarist Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith. He also scored hits with Tribal War (as George Nooks), as well as Forty Leg Dread and Bubble We a Bubble as deejay Prince Mohammed.In the 1990s, Nooks peaked at number 55 on Billboard’s R&B Singles Chart withReal Man. Then, in 2001, he enjoyed a career revival thanks to the chart-toppingGod is Standing By.
Nooks released his first gospel album, Giving Thanks, in 2002.
