Sanchez in performance—-

Sanchez, who has been doing the local show scene in recent times, is the feature act for the next ‘Live In Concert’ series at Jamaica Tamboo in Negril.

The show takes place February 23.

Worrel King of King of King Promotions, producers of the show, said it has been well-received since its launch last February.

“What a show like this does is give an artiste with a catalogue the opportunity to do a full set and not worry about hurrying up to come off stage, ‘cause 30 other man on it,” he told the Jamaica Observer.

Frankie Paul and Everton Blender are two of the artistes who have performed on Live In Concert. King, founder of the long-running Western Consciousness concert in Negril, said the resort town needs structured live entertainment.“There is entertainment there, that’s not the problem. What we need is for it to be properly set,” he said.

Sanchez was one of the torch-bearers in dancehall music during the 1980’s and 1990’s. Recording for producers like Winston Riley and Phillip ‘Fatis’ Burrell, he had numerous hit songs. Among his hits are Neva Dis The Man, The Very First Time, Here I Am and Soon as I Get Home.
