Singer Zagga is scheduled to release his Everybody mixtape on February 26. It includes a number of songs he believes can make an impact in Jamaica and overseas.
Among them are Mi Conscience Clear, produced by DJ Sky Records, and It’s OK, which is a YGF Records production.
Everybody is Zagga’s second mixtape. The first, Free Up Mixtape, was released two years ago. That collection included the hit song Free Up, produced by Chimney Records.
“The direction of this mixtape is to establish a wider listening audience and really letting people be aware of the face of the person that sing all these songs,” Zagga told the Jamaica Observer.
An Ocho Rios native, Zagga (given name Austill Henry) has been recording for the past five years. Most of his recordings, including his debut, Change, are produced by Chimney Records, which he describes as his ‘home label’.That company also produced Destination, his best known song, which was released in 2013.
Free Up a collaboration with Tarrus Riley, was a strong follow-up.
Last year, Zagga toured Europe and was nominated for a Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA) award in the Breakthrough Artiste category.
