Dalton Lindo struck and tried to stab officers with the ski pole, cops say
A 49-year-old bicyclist is in jail after attacking a woman and several officers with a ski pole while shouting “shoot me,” Margate police said.

The woman reported being hit in the neck by a man with a “cane” who had been following her about 10:45 a.m. Sunday in the 6400 block of Winfield Boulevard. She said he rode away on a bicycle, according to a police report.

Officers spotted Dalton Lindo riding southbound on N. State Road 7 approaching the intersection of Southgate Boulevard a short time later, the report stated.

When officers approached Lindo he threatened them with what was later identified as a ski pole and he repeatedly yelled “shoot me” at them, police said.

Lindo rode away on the bicycle again but was eventually caught in the 6400 block of Kimberly Boulevard in North Lauderdale, investigators said.

He struck and attempted to stab several officers with the ski pole as he was being taken into custody, according to police. Some of them suffered minor injuries and were treated and released from Northwest Medical Center, detectives said.
