ROCKSTEADY/LOVER’S rock outfit Jordan Mais and the Rebelistic Band is looking to making its name in the music industry. The quintet is currently promoting their single titled True Love.
“We are getting ready to release the song, but in the meantime, we are doing a lot of promotion around it. It is one of those songs that sets the mood for love,” Jordan Mais told the Jamaica Observer. True Love is produced by Black Marble Records and will be released later this month.
Mais, who has more than a decade of experience under his belt, previously sang backup for Anthony Red Rose.
Other members of the year-old outfit are musical director and lead keyboard player Andrew O’Gilvie; flautist and saxophone player Dave Collington-Davis; bass guitarist Horasha ‘Bamboo’ Thompson; and drummer Keydon Robinson.
“A lot of persons sometimes ask why did we choose a band over a solo career, but to me a band is real. We all like live music and we don’t believe in singing along to tracks. We choose to be a lovers’ rock and rocksteady band. I believe that will work well for us,” said Mais.
“Right now, we are looking forward to expand our music beyond Jamaica. We want a universal market and we are aiming towards collecting a Grammy in about three years,” he continued.
The band’s other recordings include Pillow Is Soaked and I Will be Your Lover.
