Reggae singer Luciano—-

THE funeral for Menelik McClymont — son of singer Luciano — is scheduled for the Meadowvale Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Red Hills Road on April 3.

Sonia Sterling, McClymont’s stepmother, confirmed the arrangements.

She said he will be interred at Meadowrest Memorial Park in St Catherine.

Sterling told the Jamaica Observer that Luciano is not coping well with the loss of his son.

“He has to be cancelling all his shows. Some promoters waan threaten to sue, but him caan perform. He’s not doing very good,” she said.

The entertainment fraternity, however, has been very supportive.

“A couple of artists pass through and offer dem condolences… Beres Hammond, Marcia Griffiths, Tony Rebel. It really make a difference. And we have been getting text from people far and wide,” said Sterling.

According to information from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), McClymont, 19, was stabbed several times on February 27, around 2:30 pm in the vicinity of Parkington Plaza on Half-Way-Tree Road, St Andrew. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the next day.

On the day of the tragedy, Luciano appealed in a video post on social media for anyone with information to report the matter to the police.
