The event will see five sound systems vying for bragging rights.
“We wanted to showcase the classic sounds of reggae and dancehall music. The competing sounds are required to clash with vintage music selections only. Tunes played (via 45s and dubs) must be 20 years or older. While the older generation of audience members will soak in the sounds of yester-year, sparking quite a nostalgic experience, younger audience members will have an authentic reggae and dancehall experience, enjoying the legends clash with music from the genre’s core,” Garfield ‘Chin’ Bourne told OBSERVER ONLINE.
Sound systems in Vintage Rumble are Downbeat, Silver Hawk, Bodyguard, Black Scorpio, and Mighty Crown.
“Dancehall and sound clash fans have been turning out in large numbers to the Rumble events. We couldn’t be happier with the attendance, as thousands of patrons attended our two previous events. The fan support of the Rumble events is a testament that sound clash fans are ready to see new sounds in the arena,” he said.
Vintage Rumble is the third event promoted under the ‘Rumble’ brand since it was revived in 2015. The previous events were US Rumble (held in October 2015 and won by Innocent Sound); and Canada Rumble (held in January and won by King Turbo).
