Promoters of Groovin in the Park have gone again for the reggae/Rhythm And Blues combo that has made it one of the most popular shows in the tri-state area.
Tessanne Chin and Duane Stephenson have been added to the June 26 event at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, New York.
They join Beres Hammond and Toots and the Maytals as confirmed reggae acts. American R&B singers Peabo Bryson and Brian McKnight will also perform.
Groovin Inc, promoters of Groovin in the Park, say they have maintained the blend of sounds based on fan demand.
Since it was first held in 2011, top reggae acts such as Hammond, Marcia Griffiths, Ken Boothe, Judy Mowatt, Stephen Marley and Capleton have graced the ‘Groovin’ stage.Patti LaBelle, Babyface, Air Supply, Billy Ocean and Michael Bolton are some of the R&B/pop artistes who have helped draw thousands of patrons to Roy Wilkins Park.
Last year saw over 20,000 people attending Groovin in the Park, its largest draw to date.
