Markland ‘Action’ Edwards—-

Radio personality and chief executive Officer of Action Entertainment Limited, Markland ‘Action’ Edwards, was dragged before the St Catherine Civil Court yesterday for breaching a contract.

The suit was filed by Taylor Made Event and PR Management which claimed that the company was contracted to organise Edwards’ event, Gosplash, that was held at Sugarman’s Beach in Portmore, St Catherine, on August 1, 2013.

When the matter was mentioned, Edwards was absent from the sitting.

This resulted in Parish Judge Jacqueline Wilcott giving a default judgement against Edwards.

During the hearing, it was revealed that Edwards hired Taylor Made Events and Public Relation Management for the staging of the show. Edwards reportedly made a commitment to pay the company $451,150 for its services. The court heard that, so far, Edwards has paid over only $50,000 to Talisa Taylor, the CEO of the company.

Despite several calls to him, it is said that Edwards still failed to honour his obligation. He was subsequently sued for breach of contract.
