American gospel singer Donnie McClurkin is the headliner for The Best Dressed Fun In the Son concert set for the National Heroes Park in Kingston, on Saturday, July 16.
Sponsored by the Jamaica Broilers Group through its Best Dressed Chicken brand, the event is free to the public. It is slated to begin at 3:30 pm.
“We have signed the contract and he is excited about performing to a packed National Heroes Park,” Tommy Cowan, CEO for Glory Music and founder of the gospel event, told the Jamaica Observer.
“This year’s gospel festival is expected to be among the biggest ever, and we look forward to the lives of many Jamaicans being transformed through this ministry,” he continued.
A senior pastor of Perfecting Faith Church in Freeport, New York, McClurkin is the holder of several awards, including three Grammys, two BET, two Soul Train, and a National Association for the Advancement in Colored People Image award.In addition to McClurkin, the local talents comprise DJ Nicholas, Papa San, Kevin Downswell, Carlene Davis, Judith Gayle and Rondell Positive. Evangelist Andrew Palau of the Luis Palau Association will bring the word.
Other attractions include marching bands; a children’s village; extreme sports zone; sporting activities; heritage tour; and food court. Gates open at 10 am.
