RAGING Fyah blazes the Billboard Reggae Album chart this week. The band’s third studio effort, Everlasting, is their first entry on the table, debuting at number two.

Released May 27 by VP Records subsidiary, Dub Rockers, the 13-track set includes Justice, Dash Wata, Ready For Love, Humble, Raggamuffin, Live Your Life and Would You Love Me.

There are collaborations with Busy Signal, Hawaiian reggae artist J Boog, and Jesse Royal.

The band’s previous albums, 2011’s Judgement Day and 2014’s Destiny failed to crack the Billboard chart.

Raging Fyah’s members are Kumar Bent (lead singer), Courtland White (guitarist) Anthony Watson (drummer), Demar Gayle (keyboardist) and Delroy ‘Pele’ Hamilton (bassist).Gayle gave an overview of the band’s latest project. “Musically, we kept our roots but went way beyond them because there is not just one shape to fyah (fire); it takes on different forms,” he said in a release.

Everlasting was recorded at Tuff Gong Studios and features production by Llamar ‘Riff Raff’ Brown (whose credits include Stephen and Damian Marley, Richie Spice, TOK and Morgan Heritage).

Elsewhere on the Billboard Reggae Album chart, Ziggy Marley remains number one with his self-titled album which debuted last week, with more than 5,200 copies sold.

VP Records’ Strictly The Best Fifty Two & Fifty Three compilations are number six, while Golden by The Movement jumps from 13 to seven. Last week’s number two, Freedom & Fyah by Alborosie falls to number eight.

Alkaline’s New Level Unlocked slips to number nine while the EP, Rose Petals, by J Boog is number 10.
