The 10 finalists in this year’s Jamaica Festival Song Competition—

THE 10 finalists in the Jamaica Festival Song Competition are currently on an islandwide roadshow which began yesterday.

“The Festival Song 50th Anniversary Roadshow will not only give the finalists a chance to perform live for audiences across the country, but will also give the public a chance to learn the winning songs,” said Stephen Davidson, director of marketing and public relations at the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission.

Yesterday’s tour covered St Mary and St Ann. On Wednesday the show is slated to move to Pier One in Montego Bay at 9:00 am.

The bandwagon resumes on Friday, June 17, covering St Thomas and Portland: first stop in Yallahs at 10:00 am; Morant Bay for 12:30 pm; Golden Grove at 2:30 pm; and Hector’s River at 5:00 pm. The day’s last stop will be in Port Antonio, Portland at 7:00 pm.

The final leg will be on Friday, June 24, covering Kingston and St Andrew: Papine Square at 10:00 am; Cross Roads at 12:15 pm; followed by Parade, downtown Kingston at 2:30 pm. By 4:15 pm the roadshow will be at Portia Simpson Miller Square, Three Miles, and closes at Mandela Park in Half-Way-Tree, at 8:00 pm.
