The 15-track album comprises tracks such as Here I Am, Nobody Greater, My Sweet Lord, I Am Depending On You, and the remix of Not One Broken Vessel. It has made its way to number 11 on the Billboard Reggae Album chart.
Commenting on the Tad’s Records co-produced album, Nooks could not be happier.
“I am not surprised, though, as the tracks are inspirational and the songs offer comfort. There is a lot of turmoil going on in the world now and I think this album is timely,” he said.
This is not Nooks’ first appearance on the Billboard Chart. In 1982, under the moniker Prince Mohamed, he entered the charts with a cover of Charlie Pride’s Someone Loves You Honey, recorded with JC Lodge.
The song was a major hit in the early ’80’s, topping the Netherlands and other European reggae charts.
Over the years, Nooks has done a lot of recording, ranging from lovers’ rock to roots reggae, but has always kept in touch with his spiritual side.
He said apart from growing up in the Church, he made his grandmother a promise that he would always use his voice to honor God.
“I have never recorded any song that regular folks or church people cannot listen to, but, for me, putting out the gospel is really special,” he said.
