Nearly a year after the release of his My World Your World album, singer Hopeton Lindo is still in promotion mode.
Hey Girlfriend, the new song from the set, was recently released. It is produced by Sly and Robbie on their Merry Go Round beat.
A video for the song has also been released. Hey Girlfriend is the fourth single from My World Your World, which has been on the market since September 11.
Lindo considers the 16-track project one of his better albums, but admits disappointment at the response to it.
“I’m not satisfied, but encouraged and very grateful for the support of those who embraced the album and hope that, with time and exposure, it will be recognized globally for what it’s worth,” he said.Lindo disclosed that My World Your World enjoyed consistent rotation in his home base of south Florida, Germany, France, Belgium and the United Kingdom.
The title track — featuring Dennis Brown and Luciano — was first released in 2011. Lindo does two covers on the album: John Lennon’s poignant Imagine, and the Al Green classic, Let’s Stay Together.
He also does a version of Red Rose For Gregory, a song he wrote for Gregory Isaacs in 1988.
A prolific songwriter, Lindo is best known to hardcore dancehall fans for the song, Territory.
