Legendary Jamaican roots-reggae group Wailing Souls are set for a live performance in Nairobi.
According to the organisers, Chini Ya Mti Promotions, the three-time Grammy nominated group will perform on November 5 this year at the KICC Grounds.
The Wailing Souls comprises Winston “Pipe” Matthews and Lloyd “Bread” McDonald.
The group was formed in 1964 as The Renegades by Winston, Lloyd and George “Buddy” Haye.
They recorded as backing singers with Ernest Ranglin and released their own debut single Lost Love .
The group became The Wailing Souls in 1968 and in the same year, Haye left.
They have so far released 18 studio albums, 10 compilation albums and one live album.
Some of their most popular songs includes Shark Attack, Bongonyah, Fire Mus Mus Tail, Stalk a Sensimenia and Grabbing and Running .
Charges for the Nairobi show are Sh1,000 (regular) and Sh2,500 (VIP) in advance and Sh1,500 (regular) and Sh3,000 (VIP) at the gate.
