Shirley Willis is looking forward to her upcoming performance at the annual CUJ Gosplash Gospel Festival, which is scheduled to take place at Sugarman’s Beach in Hellshire, Portmore on Monday, August 1st.
The veteran Gospel singer was a member of the popular Grace Thrillers Gospel group for three decades. Her unmistakable voice can be heard on many of the group’s hits including By The Grace Of God I Am Saved, Can’t Even Walk, Oh What A Sunrise and Not My Will.
“I’m very excited about performing at Gosplash. I’m going to sing some of my favorite songs for the people. It’s going to be a joyous affair on Emancipation day. Doing the work of the Lord and ministering to his people is such a beautiful thing,” she said.
Willis plans to share her testimony about her miraculous recovery from an almost fatal car accident in 2008 that left her in a coma for over a month.
“I’m going there to testify about the wonder-working powers of God. He saved me, and I want to tell the people about it because there’s no power on earth that is greater than God.”
The lineup for CUJ Gosplash also includes Grammy Award nominee Deitrick Haddon, DJ Nicholas, Prodigal Son and Carey Sayles among others.
