Reggae producer-recording artist Stephen ‘Ragga’ Marley has climbed to the top of the reggae Billboard chart with his album Revelation Part 2. The album features several hip hop artists, including legendary American rapper Rakim.

Stephen Marley recently disclosed to the media that his music is inspired by life and the universe.

“Rakim in the hip hop world is a legend, we started straight hip hop and the track evolved to where it is now. It’s like a tailor makes clothes, and that is how we make music. One verse takes you on a journey of what the narrator is saying and the next verse suppose to tek yu on a next journey as to what I am saying. That’s basically how I make music in general, that is how I always approach music. You have to be open to the universe. What we do is a creative thing, it’s not a mold. It derives from inspiration that comes from life itself, so you have to open to the universe,” he said.

Stephen Marley is a six-time Grammy award winner. However, in order to make Revelation Part 2 his seventh Grammy win, he will have to fend off competition from his brother Ziggy Marley, who is also on the Reggae Billboard chart with his self-titled album, Ziggy Marley, now sitting at number six. Also a multi-Grammy award winner, Ziggy Marley’s last album, Fly Rasta, released in 2014, won the Grammy award for Best Reggae Album.

Also on the reggae chart this week, Future Fambo’s Evolve: The Up-rise album fell to number three after peaking at number two last week.

In other Billboard Charts, Charly Black still remains the only dancehall act on the EDM Music and Dance Chart with his song, Gyal You A Party Animal, sitting at number 20.
