Raging Fyah, a promising young, self-contained reggae band out of Jamaica, is up for a 2016 International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA).
This nomination is the latest success in what has been a generally exciting year for the group whose members are Pele, Demar, Anthony, Courtland Gizmo White and Kumar.
Raging Fyah this year witnessed its third studio album, Everlasting, debut at no.2 on the Reggae Billboard chart and also make its way to the top 10 of the CMJ World Charts.
Currently home following a recent successful tour of Europe and the United States, the group which is gearing up for yet another musical trek to Europe, has been nominated for Most Outstanding Show Band along with some of Reggae’s most distinguished names.
The other nominees are Grammy award-winning Morgan Heritage, the legendary Inner Circle, Fab 5, and New Kingston.
Commenting on their nomination, Raging Fyah stated: “This isn’t about winning for us, it’s about spreading love through music. We are humbled by the nominations especially in the category with bands we admire and respect. This means a lot to us.”
The 2016 IRAWMA will take place on October 2 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. Established in 1982, the awards acknowledge and honor the accomplishments and contributions of reggae and world music artists, including songwriters, performers, promoters and musicians.
