Ras Penco—
 JAMAICAN-born, Canada-based, emerging reggae singer Ras Penco is promoting his latest single First Child.

“The song is about the joy I’m experiencing with the birth of my first child,” he told the

Jamaica Observer yesterday. “My songs are about real life situations, especially in my life. My music is a music of solution and positive messages.”

First child was released in July on the Italian label Greezzly Production. According to Ras Penco, the song is getting its fair share of airtime in Canada.

“It’s going good in Canada. I’ve been following its progress on social media and it’s doing well in Europe and in Jamaica,” said the 31 year old.

Born in Riversdale, St Catherine, Ras Penco (given name Reinford Woodburn) attended Bog Walk High in the same parish. He migrated to Canada a year ago.

He said he was out the blocks early, as far a his recording career was concerned.

“I started recording at 17. My first single was Go For Your Goal,” he said.

His other singles include Thousand Miles Away, Give Thanks For Life, Promise andBe By My Side.
