With great concern about crime, especially in western Jamaica, entertainers Mackie Conscious and a team of musicians has collaborated with Queen Ifrika who also hails from Montego Bay and who has similar concerns to host a Free Major concert “ ENTERTAINERS AGAINST CRIME &VIOLENCE” to be held at Dump Up Beach Sunday, December 4 2016, starting at 3 pm
The event is designed to have the major Jamaican recording artists both home and abroad, to participate in donating their time to solidify a cry from the music fraternity that we need a change. For too long we have been losing too many of our valuable Jamaicans through crime and violence. This has placed Jamaica in a position that is crippling all sectors of our society example, Music, Tourism, businesses, families, and is grossly affecting the entire economy.
To date we have a list of over 50 name brand entertainers to choose from who we are expected to make themselves available live or via video link on a large screen. This list include Beres Hammond, Marcia Griffiths, Diana King, Tony Rebel, Queen Ifrika, Mackie Conscious, Spice, Ninja Man, Shaggy, Sean Paul, Benie Man, I Octain , Jimmy Cliff, Mutabaruka, Hezron, Carlene Davis, Lt. Stitchie, Kevin Dowenswell, just to name a few. Some of these are already confirmed.
We have come to the conclusion that music is one of the greatest influences both negatively and positively and has played a role in the development of this generation. We are also cognizant of the fact that in the escalation of crime and violence in the society, music/ negative lyrical contents is a contributory factor.
The St James Police, the Parish Council and the UDC have already given us full support.
We intend to have an Entertainers Motorcade and reasoning session on the day of the event through the troubled communities. Following the event we anticipate with the help of corporate Jamaica, to launch an initiative to revisit the communities with an offer of support with academic advancements and skills training to the youth.
A third imitative to be launched later as it relates to keeping an eye on the entire entertainment coming from the fraternity will be to better assist in the inspiration of the youth and promote quality of music, impacting ultimately Brand Jamaica.
WE HAVE ALREADY SECURED COMMITMENTS FROM: (JOHN SWABY) SOUNDS LIGHT AND STAGE, MELLO FM, WESTERN MIRROR, KNUTSFORD EXPRESS, IRIE FM RADIO, REBEL SALUTE FOUNDATION, MODERN SEWER AND DRAIN SERVICE, AND AWAIT CONFIRMATION FROM MANY OTHER PERSONS WHO THROUGH SUPPRTING THIS VENTURE WILLINGING EXPRESSED THEIR DISATISFACTION with CRIME, .
This is expected to be a major production hence we are now seeking Corporate Jamaica partnership in financing this major production.
Our team consist of Ian Lammie (production) who is very experienced in professional productions to including Jamaica Jazz and Pace Entertainment; Mark Clarke, Luciano’s former Touring Manager responsible for Artist Connection; Conroy Walker of Persons of Interest Band; Carl Edwards of Live Wyya in charge of rehearsals and bands connection; George Thomas of Bung Guh Lhung band, another musician responsible for security, grounds and medical assistance as he also holds a position in the Medical Field.
