Lucas Musiq—

SINCE converting to Christianity one year ago, Lucas Musiq has made a name as a hip-hop gospel artist.

The rapper released his debut album, Not From Here, two Saturdays ago. The 16-track set is co-produced by his Lucas Musiq and Tru Reverence Production label.

“It has a different vibe to it, so it will grab the listeners with its uniqueness. The album consists of various genres, mainly hip hop, which you hardly find Jamaican gospel artists doing. This was to show the world that Christian music can be done in different ways and we must not limit God in anything we do,” Lucas Musiq, 22, said. He added that the album has received positive reception.

“It’s not my plan but the Lord’s plan that He has for me. So wherever He takes this album and career, I will be obedient to go as far as the highways and the byways,” he said.

Lucas Musiq (given name is Shacquille Wedderburn) hails from Portmore. His songs include Show Love, Left Behind, Patiently, and Made It featuring Blu I Steppa and J Projek.
