Toronto singer Tony Anthony earns his latest chart-topper with Today I’m Gonna Try And Change The World. Released on the Big 7 Promotions label, it is number one on the Foundation Radio Network New York Top 30 chart for a second-straight week.
Anthony, who is from Grove Farm in St Catherine, spoke to Splash about the song which was originally recorded in 2010 by Canadian country singer Johnny Reid.
“In September a friend of mine called me around midnight, telling me he found the perfect song for me to do a version of. He sent it to me via email, and as soon as I heard the chorus and the message in the song I was hooked. We recorded the song a few weeks later and it was released in October.
The track was recorded in Jamaica by drummer Randy Patrick from the group C-Sharp,” he explained.
Today I’m Gonna Try And Change The World is also in the Reggae Evolution Chart in Austin, Texas and the South Florida Reggae Chart. It will be on Anthony’s forthcoming album Book of Rules.
