Reggae Sumfest 25 was launched in fine style on Thursday evening at Usain Bolt’s Tracks and Records.
Following a meet and mingle and an energetic performance from the Sumfest Dancers, MC Miss Kitty officially welcomed guests.
From there, the proceedings unfolded smoothly,
A Sponsors’ Huddle saw Miss Kitty quizzing Blandine JnPaul Reid (Red Stripe), Paul Pennicook (Jamaica Tourist Board) and Mitch Watson (Pepsi) about their favorite entertainers and Sumfest moments.
Video presentations separated a Nikki Z interview with Downsound Record’s Josef Bogdanovich, live from the venue’s upper level, and greetings from Delano Seivreight (from the Ministry of Tourism) and Olivia Grange (Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports), before Robert Russell’s vote of thanks and live performances from the likes of Richie Stephens, Devin Di Dakta, Mr Lex, Harry Toddler and Devianah.
Entertainers who are also billed for Reggae Sumfest 25, were also in attendance, among them, Beenie Man and Bounty Killer. Bogdanovich also delivered news that international artiste Sean Kingston would be likely to take the Sumfest stage this year, and that intimated to the exclusive gathering more surprises were in the works.
