Released on May 26 via Sony Music Latin, El Dorado contains 13 tracks. Supa Dups’s credits are on Nada, Amarillo, Comme Moi, and What We Said.

He explained how he got involved in the project.

“I got on the Shakira project through my relationship with Roc Nation. We did recording sessions in Barcelona, Spain. I flew to Spain about four times and Stephen McGregor met me there three times. We worked together on the track Armarillo,” Supa Dups told Jamaica Observer.

“I worked with Nasri (lead singer of MAGIC) on What They Said, the English version to Comme Moi, but my favorite of the songs is called Nada, even though I don’t understand what it’s saying. It struck a chord with me,” he continued.

El Dorado is Shakira’s 11th studio album and her first Spanish set in seven years. It contains collaborations with Black M, MAGIC, Prince Royce, Maluma, and Nicky Jam.

“This is the first album I’ve worked on that wasn’t in English. I met and worked with some amazing people while in Spain, including Rude Boyz from Medellin, Colombia, Shakira’s long-time producer; and song collaborator Luis Ochoua, and of course the queen herself, Shakira. I feel honored and blessed that she allowed two Jamaicans, myself and Stephen McGregor, to work with her,” said Supa Dups.

Supa Dups has won Grammys for albums he has worked on, including Drake’s Take Care (Best Rap Album) and Bruno Mars’ Unorthodox Jukebox (Best Pop Vocal Album).

Last year he had two major hits on the Billboard and European charts, Controlla and Too Good, both recorded by Drake.

Controlla, which sampled Beenie Man’s Tear off Mi Garment, has been certified gold in the United States, the UK, France, and New Zealand.

Too Good (which features Rihanna) contained a sample from Popcaan’s Love Yuh Bad. It has been certified platinum in the UK, gold in the US, 4 x platinum in Canada and 3 x platinum in Australia.

Shakeria is best known for hits including Whenever, Wherever, Hips Don’t Lie, Beautiful Liar, and Underneath Your Clothes. She has sold more than 125 million records, making her one of the best-selling Latin artistes of all time.
